Install Wanderlings

Put Wanderlings on an ESP32 T-Display straight from your browser. After this first install, updates arrive over WiFi from Settings > Software update.

Firmware 0.2.1

  1. 1. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer (phones and Firefox/Safari can't talk to USB devices).
  2. 2. Plug the T-Display in with a USB-C data cable.
  3. 3. Press Install, pick the board's serial port, and wait about two minutes.

This browser can't flash devices. Open this page in Chrome or Edge on a computer.

Flashing needs a secure (https) connection to this server.

Reinstalling keeps your pet. Choose Erase device only to start completely fresh: that clears the pet, WiFi settings and friend code.

After installing

The device restarts and offers you an egg. Then open Settings > WiFi & server: it shows a WiFi name and password. Within three minutes, join that network from your phone, open 192.168.4.1, and enter your home WiFi and this server's address (https://wanderlings.birdfamily.id.au).

No serial port appears?

Try another cable (many are charge-only) or another USB port. Some boards need the CH340/CH9102 USB driver; the installer links to it if your computer is missing it. If the board still won't connect, hold the left button while plugging it in to force download mode.
